FUCK GUNS.

It saddens me to the core to know that both of my motherlands (I’m Luso-American) rank in the top 3 for Death By Gun. I mean, USA I totally believe because we as a nation run by white supremacy maintain a centuries long fascination with bearing arms, BUT PORTUGAL? My beautiful, small socialist country? SAY IT ISN'T SO, EXCEPT IT IS (Portugal still struggles with admitting how prevalent misogyny-based/domestic violence remains, especially in rural areas).

As a lifelong opponent of guns (I NEVER liked the horrible things, even as a child), I am constantly voicing my opposition to the second amendment, "stand your ground", NRA devils, and any legislature or practice that promotes or is lax on gun access.

How many more people, American and Portuguese and worldwide, do we have to bury until we realize that it is IN FACT GUNS that kill people and not just people who kill people ‘cause without the fucking things, no one can do the latter?

Whether it is mental illness, racism, classicism, police brutality, misogyny, domestic violence, or any reason, if we got rid of guns, or at the very least had some real, tough gun control laws in place, we could keep school children alive, keep DV victims alive, keep victims of gang violence, crime, and poverty alive, etc.

We would KEEP PEOPLE ALIVE, ya'll. Imagine that.
