This Wednesday, July 18th, four badass women I highly admire as both a poet and a queer feminist will be performing their spoken word at the Newark Public Library as part of Brick City Collective (BCC)'s monthly reading series. Lucky me, I get to host them!

The theme of the reading is "Family & Borders", which will explore the ways in which the people we love and hold dear sometimes are held back from us.

BCC, a proud supporter of the ” Keep Families Together” Act (SB3036), will be collecting donations towards The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), a nonprofit that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families and refugees in central and South Texas.
